Common questions from parents
When are tonsils removed?
When there are recurrent tonsillitis episodes meeting clinical criteria, or when tonsils obstruct the airway (childhood sleep apnea).
Why does my child breathe through the mouth?
Most commonly, adenoid hypertrophy. Important to evaluate because long-term it affects facial and dental development.
Do recurrent otitis require ventilation tubes?
Sometimes yes, when persistent middle ear effusion affects hearing or episodes are very frequent.
Does my child need an accompanying adult during the consultation?
Yes, parents or caregivers stay throughout the entire visit.
