First visit

First ENT consultation

Duration: 30 to 45 minutes

The first ENT consultation is a comprehensive medical assessment in which Dr. Claudia Martínez thoroughly evaluates the ear, nose, throat, and related head-and-neck structures.

What happens during the visit

  • Opening and completing your full medical history, including medical, surgical, family history and allergies.
  • Detailed analysis of your reason for the visit and current symptoms.
  • Review of any prior medical tests (audiograms, CTs, MRIs, endoscopies) you bring along.
  • Full ENT physical exam: otoscopy (ears), rhinoscopy (nasal passages), exam of oral cavity, pharynx, larynx and neck palpation.
  • Preliminary clinical diagnosis.
  • Guidance on medical treatment, care recommendations and, when needed, request for additional tests or referral to specialized procedures.
  • Clear answers and next steps.

Common reasons for a first visit

  • Ear pain or discharge
  • Hearing loss
  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
  • Vertigo or balance problems
  • Chronic nasal congestion
  • Recurrent sinusitis
  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Snoring and sleep apnea
  • Persistent sore throat
  • Hoarseness or voice changes
  • Feeling of a foreign body in the throat
  • Recurrent nosebleeds

Before your visit

  • Bring your ID document.
  • Bring any prior medical tests related to your reason for the visit (audiograms, CT, MRI, endoscopies).
  • A list of medications you are currently taking.
  • If the consultation is for a minor, they must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This visit is for patients seeing Dr. Claudia Martínez for the first time, or who consult for a new reason unrelated to prior treatments.

Follow-up

ENT follow-up consultation

Duration: 20 to 30 minutes

The follow-up consultation is a monitoring visit for patients already seen by Dr. Claudia Martínez, focused on evaluating treatment progress, adjusting therapies and verifying clinical improvement.

What happens during the follow-up

  • Review of progress since the last visit.
  • Analysis of results from tests previously requested (audiograms, CTs, endoscopies, cultures, biopsies).
  • Targeted ENT physical exam, focused on the treated area.
  • Assessment of response to current medical treatment.
  • Adjustment of medications, doses or treatment schemes based on progress.
  • Care recommendations and prevention of relapse.
  • Scheduling of additional procedures if needed (ear cleaning, cauterization, endoscopy, pre-surgical assessment).
  • Clarifying any doubts about the ongoing treatment.

This visit is for patients who

  • Already have an open medical record with Dr. Claudia Martínez.
  • Are returning for follow-up of a previously established diagnosis.
  • Need monitoring of an ongoing medical or post-surgical treatment.
  • Bring results of tests requested at a previous visit.
  • Need treatment adjustment or prescription renewal.

Before your follow-up

  • Bring your ID document.
  • Bring all medical tests performed since the last visit.
  • Bring your previous prescription and any medications you've been taking.
  • Note any new symptoms or changes you've noticed.

Important: follow-up visits only apply to patients with an existing medical record. If more than 6 months have passed since your last visit, or your reason is different from the previous one, you will need to book a first-visit consultation.
